David Liebe Hart - Astronaut (2015, Stereo)

Wandering the streets of Los Angeles, you're bound to run into David Liebe Hart. He frequents the Hollywood Bowl, where he street performs down the trek up to the ticket counter. Caroline, my wife, has ran into him there multiple times. We also encountered him sitting on a bench at the La Brea Tar Pits trying to sell souvenir sketches and his CD's which he stated was "Punk rock music."

Caroline bought one of his albums during her previous encounter (Christian Hymns And Songs Of Praise, which is as good as it sounds,) and decided we were going to buy EVERYTHING he had to offer. We left with three albums, a sketch of our cat, Giuseppe and some fun memories.

Astronaut is one of those albums. His self-described "punk" rock music... is more like electronic outsider music. The songs on here deal with several topics, which are classic DLH: Space exploration and technology, public service and positive message songs and songs dealing with his troubles with women. It has all the outsider charm he brought to "Tim & Eric Awesome Show! Great Job!" only more polished. I suppose he's still at it and refining himself as a musician.

Considering he sold us a bootleg burned copy of his own CD with photocopied album art, I see no copy of sharing the album with all of you.

You can download the album here.

Or buy it from the man himself here
